The photos show a customers Westfalia before and after fitting a Transporterhaus drop spindle kit at the front and Renegade Speedsters boomerang plate rear lowering kit.
Renegade Speedsters are a Transporterhaus approved fitter of their top quality dropped spindles, and have supplies in stock for all Vintages of Type 2. These spindles are precision machined to invert the ball joints, and have undergone stress load testing of construction and matierials in excess of 15 tons without mechanical failure.
For the rear suspension Renegade Speedsters use our own manufactured boomerang plates, as this gives a precise drop without the excessive negitive camber and bearing wear issues associated with rotating the trailing arms.
The advantages of using our dropped spindle and boomerang plate combination are a matched 3.5 inch drop at each end, that retains the factory suspension geometry specifications. This gives amazingly comfortable suspension without the harsh ride and mechanical stresses associated with traditional methods of lowering. We have found by testing various methods of suspension modification that this is the best combination for looks, quality of ride and practical everyday use, thats why we fit it on our own busses.
